You’d probably need to know some numbers in Malay to go shopping, right?

First, the currency of Malaysia is Ringgit.

  • 1 – Satu
  • 2 – Dua
  • 3 – Tiga
  • 4 – Empat
  • 5 – Lima
  • 6 – Enam
  • 7 – Tujuh
  • 8 – Lapan
  • 9 – Sembilan
  • 10 – Sepuluh
  • 11 – Sebelas
  • 12 – Dua belas
  • 13 – Tiga belas (“belas” is like “-teen” in “thirteen”)
  • 20 – Dua puluh (“puluh” is like “-ty” in “twenty”)
  • 30 – Tiga puluh
  • 100 – Satu ratus/seratus (“ratus” means “hundred”)
  • 101 – Satu ratus satu
  • 130 – Satu ratus tiga puluh
  • 200 – Dua ratus
  • 1000 – Satu ribu
  • 1257 – Satu ribu dua ratus dan lima puluh tujuh
  • 1000000 – Satu juta
